Neil Wyatt sings and writes from life. His life included scratching a living on an Arkansas farm, picking cotton and driving a truck at the age of twelve. Young Neil experienced a real culture when his family was forced to live in the city. All this is brought to bear in Wyatt`s music, particularly on `Country To The Bone` (Comstock). And that is what Neil is, country to the bones, on ten originals that included the honky tonk `I Love You And I Hate You`, the two-stepping, prideful title track and the ghostly `A Visit To The Wall`. There is much more with the tearjerker `If I Can`t Remember Maybe I Could Forget`, the tribute to a much loved father, `My Dad`, and the waltz `That`s One Thing They Can`t Change`. Good solid country!!

Headline:  Review on CD from Denmark

From: Dann Hansen
To: Frank Fara, Comstock Records

Thanks for the latest CD`s; as they have arrived on my desk (Neil Wyatt/Mid Autumn Compilation and Lyle Sinclair) they are top notch country music, but this time I can`t stay away from praising the artist Neil Wyatt, as in my world of country music is some of the best artists as I have received for years. I know I used to write reviews or other kinds of appreciation abouth the artists, because I personally feel those people as review the music, is absolutely without any value for the population, as not need to get to know what`s good and which ain`t. It`s the personally opinion as can`t be told by some silly and half idiot as try to looks interesting and well educated, but I personally would like to mention my opinion about Neil Wyatt and his music, then you can share it with Neil if you want.

Neil Wyatt and his CD COUNTRY TO THE BONE

Today`s country music is changed colossal since I begun to listen to it more than 50 years ago, and some will say it`s good and some don`t. I`m not a greenhorn anymore, and my taste in the country music is from the `old school` when country music really was country, and not yet was forced to make compromises with the music industry to keep alive. The nowadays diluted country music is a result of those decisions as are taken, when the new generation of music directors has taken over their fathers jobs, and then their missing knowledge to the country music hhas created this situation as we today meet. Neil Wyatt is an artists thas has been able to escape the rape of the country music, and when his songs fill the room, he is able to awake the true country music feeling as once float over those songs. Neil really impresses me, his lyrics are something special, and a song as `HONKY TONK COWBOY` will be able to awake every single country music fan by the old school, including me. My only advice to Neil will be, beware of the drum sound, as absolutely not belongs to the true and honest country music form back then, and is able to kill the best country songs by taking the country out of the country music. Instead of include those knocking drums, use a soft harmonica sound, then you are able to underline the country sound. I am not saying that country music has to concern `Mom`s, Home, Trucks and Trains` to be country, the music treated well is able to wear a song, which Neil proves in his song named Hony Tonk Cowboy, as will spin in my forthocming shows, and be able to show the listening audience the enormous difference there is betweenn today`s country and the pure honest and true country music, as thanks to Neil still it`s able to sound in my shows.
Sincerely from Country Music DJ at Roskilde Dampradio
